Since his election as DuPage County board chairman in 2010, Dan Cronin has worked to implement a countywide strategy for fighting mosquitoes because of the overlapping and conflicting spray services across municipalities. Should village officials want to abolish the district and transfer out its services, they may have to turn to a referendum, and pose the question to voters on the March 2016 election ballot. ![]() James Ryan, the district's chairman, did not answer several calls and emails for this story.Įlliott said taxpayers in Glen Ellyn aren't "well-served by having a separate unit of government that is nothing but a paper entity," and encourages the village to explore different options for eliminating the district.
